Twin masts, an elegant bowsprit, and traditional seven-sail rigging define the silhouette of Manta Mae as she sails through Indonesia’s eastern archipelagos. Launched in 2014, this 31-meter Phinisi ironwood schooner reflects the maritime traditions of Bugis shipbuilders while offering a refined modern charter experience.
Her construction began on the beaches of Bira, where the keel was carved from a single ironwood tree using time-honored boatbuilding techniques passed down through generations. Once the hull was completed, the vessel was brought to Bali, where master craftsmen finished the interiors with Indonesian teak, fossilized wood, and carefully selected natural materials, creating a distinctive atmosphere throughout the yacht.
Up to 12 guests are accommodated across five individually designed cabins, including a spacious master suite and two staterooms with queen-size beds. The cabins were designed by Marco Giovanardi, Manta Mae’s Italian owner, and feature ensuite bathrooms, climate control, and distinctive interior details. Communal areas include an air-conditioned midship salon with a bar and media system, as well as open decks for alfresco dining, lounging, and sunbathing.
