About Si Datu Bua

MSV Si Datu Bua (Beloved Princess) is built by the master Konjo boat builders of Sulawesi to exacting German Lloyds specifications this magnificent vessel melds the best of traditional island sailing vessels with all of the modern amenities and safety features.

From the Sulawesi Sea to the mountains of Toradja in combination with our fully refurbished intricately carved 164-year-old clan house on the slopes of Gunung Sesean. Sidatu’s tastefully appointed décor, spacious decks, delightful Asian fusion cuisine and full range of aquatic activities provide the perfect counterpoint for a combined land & sea adventure.

Si Datu Bua is the little sister boat to the Silolona but is every bit as impressive and luxurious. Si Datu Bua is a modern day interpretation of the traditional Indonesian phinisi sailing ships that traded along the historical spice routes that has incorporated traditional ship building skills with modern technology.

Her dedicated professional crew of 14 who are widely acclaimed as the “best crew ever” by many returning guests of Si Datu Bua and her sister vessel, the Silolona. The crew will lead you to unknown corners of this stunning archipelago to have the experience of a lifetime where you can witness history, culture and the traditions of the Indonesian people, dive or snorkel in some of the best reefs of the world or simply lie back and relax under her lofty rust coloured sails.

The interior design inspiration is pure seafaring romance with inspiration taken from Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage and history of the ancient Spice Trading routes (Spice Islands).

Si Datu Bua is the perfect choice for a family charter or a group of friends. There are just three chic and expansive cabins: two of which are master suites with one additional double cabin. Each cabin has king size beds, a shower and a toilet. The accommodation is fully air conditioned throughout the boat.

Onboard, Si Datu Bua is equipped with a PADI dive centre, waterskis, wakeboards, kayaks and fishing gear.

Experience mouth-watering international and fusion meals prepared by the boat’s dedicated Executive Chef accompanied by some of the boat’s fine wines.
